I had to write to about a chilling story I read in the local news recently. This story described a son who longed for his father. His father died before he was born. He longed for the father he never had. He even kept a photo of his mom pregnant with him as she attended his dad’s funeral. He missed the dad he never met. So much that he couldn’t take it anymore without him. The void was unbearable to him and he chose to end his own life.
I wrote about this young man not to depress you, although it is a heartbreaking story. I wrote it as a call to all fathers alive today. I wrote it to stir something up inside you, to inspire you so you will rise up as the guide, guard and governor of your family. It’s a call to be there for your children and to meet a need that each child has. That need and desire that every child has for a father to be a part of their life, to encourage them, to teach them and to be a loving example for them. It’s primal. It’s in their nature and their makeup. They are looking for a hero called Dad. Don’t sit back and allow the influences of the world overcome your children.
This is so powerful…inspiring the fathers to, “rise up as the guide, guard and governor of your family.” O so powerful! Thank you for being a man who has risen up and remains standing, walking and running as guide, guard and governor of your family!
