The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. -Psalms 34:17-18 NLT
WHAT A PROMISE! Life, as you know, is not always easy. It has its seasons of ups and downs, BUT we don’t have to stay down. Look at what our God has said, and still says. When we call on His name, He will answer us! He’s not going to leave us where we are. How encouraging! We’re not raising our voice to some idea or a dead god. He is alive, and He hears us!
The next verse, “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” People who do not know, and claim this verse often seek other means to heal their hearts, whatever that may be. Indulging in something else to try to heal the ache they feel and that hole in their heart. Nothing but our God can fully heal that hurt. And guess what? He said He is close to them! He said He will rescue them! And our God does not lie. Know this! In those times of trouble, in those times when you feel hurt and down, remember that God is your rescuer and He is with you ALWAYS.
Prayer Starter
God, I thank you that in all season of my life You are there. I thank you that You are a God that wants to be close to me and wants to rescue me from despair. Jesus, in times when I feel broken, please remind me that when I call to You, You hear me, and that You are there. I know You will rescue me and will always come through.
