Matthew 18:18,19
18 “ Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. 19 “ Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”
As mighty as the prayer of one individual may be, it cannot be compared to the results when two or more pray together in agreement.
Joshua said to the children of Israel, “One man of you shall chase a thousand,” but Moses declared that, “two put ten thousand to flight.”
That’s a factor of ten increase!!! United prayer increases our prayer effectiveness.
In Acts 12, Herod had just killed James. Peter was in prison, awaiting the same fate. What did the church do? A company of prayer warriors gathered in the home of Mark’s mother to pray.
Acts 12:5 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.
Their faith was probably not the highest at this time. One of the apostles was just murdered, and another imprisoned. It is unlikely that any of them alone had the faith needed for a miracle BUT, their prayer of agreement reached an intensity beyond what any of them possessed individually and it was their united prayer that touched heaven! Peter followed an angel and walked right past guards and out of prison!
Agreeing in prayer is the Biblical way of dealing with problems. There is power in the prayer of agreement. When a special problem is presented to you, get that person to pray with you in agreement.
